- The 2018 Rohe Blind River Sauvignon Blanc shows attractive aromas of lemongrass, ripe pink grapefruit and yellow stone fruits with underlying jalapeno and yellow bell peppers.
The palate is big, super concentrated and luscious with layers of sweet melon, ripe grapefruit and papaya complemented by an attractive moorish and juicy acidity.
Blind River is a small sub-region found south of Awatere, Marlborough. Arguably the harshest environment of all the valleys, this area is particularly windy and dry. The station that the vineyard is located on was once named Atacama after the driest desert on Earth in Chile. The climate and terroir develops unique and intensified flavours as the grapevines are naturally restricted.
