Chapatti is an unleavened flatbread made out of wholewheat— the majority of other South Asian flatbreads are made from plain flour. Literally meaning flat, Chapatti is traditionally handmade by rotating and slapping the dough into a flat circular shape, then either heated directly over a flame or in a tava (frying pan) until the dough rises. Shana’s Wholemeal Chapatti offer an authentic no frills taste. Simply heat the chapattis for 2-3 minutes in a non-stick pan over a medium heat.
