  • Almus Ibuprofen & Codeine – 24 Tablets Dual-action pain relief combining an anti-inflammatory (ibuprofen) with a mild opioid analgesic (codeine) for short-term use when other painkillers alone are not effective. Over-the-counter (Pharmacy only) For adults & adolescents ≥12 years Short-term use ≤3 days Important: Codeine can cause addiction. For 3 days’ use only. If you need to use this medicine for more than three days, see your doctor or pharmacist. What it’s for Short-term relief of acute moderate pain such as migraine, dental pain, period pain, rheumatic and muscular pain, backache, and neuralgia when ibuprofen or other painkillers alone have not provided adequate relief. How it works
Ibuprofen reduces pain, swelling, and inflammation (NSAID).
Codeine phosphate acts on pain signals to enhance pain relief. Typical UK pharmacy strength per tablet: ibuprofen 200 mg + codeine phosphate 12.8 mg (check your pack to confirm the exact strength). Do not use if
You are allergic to ibuprofen, codeine, aspirin, other NSAIDs, or any ingredients.
You have ever had a stomach/duodenal ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding, or perforation related to NSAIDs, or you currently have indigestion/heartburn or blood in stools/black stools.
You have severe heart, kidney, or liver failure; a bleeding disorder; or you are taking other NSAIDs or high-dose aspirin.
You are in the last 3 months of pregnancy or are breastfeeding (risk of serious side effects in the infant; codeine can pass into breast milk).
You are a known ultra-rapid metaboliser of CYP2D6 (risk of opioid toxicity from codeine).
You need to drive or operate machinery and feel drowsy, dizzy, or confused after taking this medicine. Pack Size Box of 24 tablets. Read the enclosed leaflet before use. Helpful Guidance
Try the lowest effective dose for the shortest time.
Consider non-drug measures too (rest, hydration, heat/cold packs) and speak to a pharmacist if unsure this product is right for you.
If you need pain relief for more than 3 days, or your pain returns quickly, consult a healthcare professional. This information is a general guide and does not replace the patient information leaflet or medical advice from your pharmacist or doctor. Always read the label.
