Thrush Test & Treat Kit (Canestest, Fluconazole, Clotrimazole Cream) Suitable ages: 16–60 Over-the-counter guidance Read the leaflet This all-in-one kit helps you identify common vaginal infections and, when appropriate, treat vaginal thrush (candida) externally and/or with a single oral dose. Always read the instructions in each pack component before use. What’s inside Canestest® self-test swab — helps indicate if your symptoms are more consistent with thrush (typically normal pH) or another cause such as bacterial vaginosis (typically higher pH). Fluconazole 150 mg capsule — single-dose oral antifungal for vaginal thrush when previously diagnosed and symptoms are familiar. Clotrimazole cream (external use) — soothes and treats external vulval symptoms (itching, soreness, irritation). Strength and pack size may vary by kit; see label. Who this kit is for Women and people with vaginas aged 16 to 60 years who have had thrush diagnosed before and recognise the same symptoms. Those wanting a simple at-home indication (via Canestest) to help decide next steps before treatment. Not for: children under 16, adults over 60, pregnancy, recurrent or complicated infections, or first-ever symptoms — see Warnings. How it works Canestest: Use the swab as directed and compare the colour change to the chart to indicate vaginal pH. A normal pH is more suggestive of thrush; a higher pH may suggest other causes (e.g., BV). The test does not diagnose; if unsure, seek medical advice. Fluconazole: An azole antifungal that inhibits fungal cell membrane formation. Typically taken as a single 150 mg capsule. Clotrimazole cream: A topical azole antifungal to treat and soothe external vulval symptoms. FAQs Can I use the cream alone without taking the capsule?Yes—if your symptoms are purely external (itching/soreness around the vulva) and you wish to avoid oral treatment. For internal symptoms (discharge, internal itching) the capsule is typically used unless contraindicated. Follow pharmacist advice. What if the Canestest result suggests a cause other than thrush?Do not take fluconazole. Consider seeing a clinician or pharmacist for assessment, as you may need a different treatment (for example, for bacterial vaginosis). How soon should I feel better? Many people notice improvement within 24–48 hours after the capsule. External symptoms may take a few days to settle with the cream. If no improvement by day 3, seek advice. Healthcare disclaimer: This information is not a diagnosis and does not replace the advice of your doctor or pharmacist.
